In the late 1800s, Plymouth became a cherished stop for farmers at harvest time. After loading their wagons with the fruits of their labor and venturing east toward Minneapolis, they’d stop in Plymouth—a welcome rest before the final leg into the city. It was a place to wash off the dust of the road, share hearty meals, dance to lively music, and celebrate the year’s hard work. This joyful pause turned into a cherished tradition as Plymouth became known throughout the area for the gathering’s at Schiebe’s Corner. Though the tavern is long gone, its spirit lives on in today’s Harvest Festival—a tribute to community, music, and the fruits of the harvest.
