His 2015 album, "Next Summer," was named Best Electronic/Pop Album of the year by L'etoile Magazine.
"It’s almost dangerously entertaining in places, a kind of 70s/80s pastiche that takes the best bit of about a thousand genres I love (here a little Yacht Rock, there a little 80s electro, there a touch of Gary Wright, there a hint of Peter Gabriel) and weaves it into a damn wonderful pop masterpiece, the first big local blast of the year."- Jon Hunt, L'etoile Magazine.
2018's "Night Games" album also got some love from Star Tribune, "Church himself is a very Oates-ian music hustler who also happens to have Hall-esque frontman charisma and vocal chops — not to mention a discernibly ’80s pop sound — all of which shines through on his new solo album, “Night Games.â€
